This course was awesome! All capitals A.W.E.S.O.M.E! Seriously, one of the most intellectually engaging, yet not too difficult courses I ever took at UBC!

Course Content

The lectures and the readings were fun and easy to follow, The quizzes were relatively easy too. I didn't do great on my final paper because I was working practically full-time in December, but still, since I did fine on my quizzes and short response assignments, I pulled off an A-

Sam knows so much about Buddhism! Oh my Buddha!!! I have learned some stuff in this course about Buddhism that was at first counterintuitive, but as the course progressed the pieces of the puzzle fell into their proper places. Thank you Sam!

Advice

Talk to the prof if you have time to make it to optional Zoom sessions. And ask him about his experiences practicing many different Buddhist traditions. This guy is not just a walking encyclopedia of Buddhism, but apparently was a practicing Buddhist himself for many years. Great stuff!
