People say Dr. Sucur is a good prof, they are not wrong, but honestly his class was kind of boring. The texts he picked to study were pretty niche, and somewhat difficult to connect to and find research on. I honestly didn't mind this class too much at all, it was bearable until it went online. Dr. Sucur did not adapt well, and expected students to "discuss" the texts on some obscure discussion board with very little guidance on his part. After 0 students participated, he abandoned the idea and decided to post voice lectures. I stopped attending class after that point.

Check the prof's "theme" for the class and pick one that is interesting to you.

I had Dr. Sucur for an online 103 class and it was great. His website is easy to navigate and the class was fully asynchronous. He also gives lots of time for assignments and the lectures were really clear and easy to follow. Interesting topics were chosen and we did movie analysis too.

Start assignments early and attend all lectures if you want a good grade in his class. Definitely not an easy A like some students post.
