The content is very woke. I wouldn't call myself conservative, I'm just a very neutral person. However, I ended up disagreeing with some of the content. It focused too much on gender identity (meaning it was talked about in a social tone, not also mixed with a biological tone like the course said it would (it mentioned gender differences in bones and then moved on)). It gave off the tone that other cultures were better than others, in a way that when you had to write about certain practices you were constantly comparing them (the whole point of anthro is to learn every topic, not rank them).
The first assignment said to use three citations (IN THE RUBRIC), and when I did and handed it in, my TA said there wasn't enough and just barely passed me. For the second assignment (which goes by the same rubric), I doubled the amount of citations, and the TA that marked it said I used too many, giving me a 60. For the exams, half of the questions match the material. Some were from the textbook, some lectures, then half were not taught at all.
The classes having problems shouldn't be blamed on the prof though, they're very helpful and will answer any of your questions. It's the TA's that ***** with you (and if you get a bad mark and want a regrade, you have to email the prof a 300 word paragraph why).
Please, I am begging you, do not take this course. I took it because I found out it was online, no prereqs needed, and it was split into four items: 2 assignments and 2 exams, making me think it would be a bird. Unless you're an anthropology nerd, this will not help your gpa.
