Comments on the course

You are in aero eng because you like planes. If you don't like this course, consider a new engineering program. GO TO THE TUTORIALS AND TAKE NOTES. The lectures were great but I didn't bother taking any notes, because the prof made his annotated slides available. Plus most of it is common sense to any aviation enthusiast or people with a PPL anyways. The tutorial is where the real stuff happens. The course itself is extremely straightforward. It teaches you how a plane works (duh), how the parts come together, how to draft up basic dimensions based on design requirements, and ultimately you'll design a fixed-wing aircraft and model it in CATIA. The aircraft varies, some years had a long range UAV, some had a business jet, my year had this urban air mobility VTOL doodad. CATIA is more
