Lot of reading and 70% of the grade comes from 2 exams. That being said, he is an easier grader and the class discussions are really interesting.
My plan is to go to law school after AU and this class gave a very solid foundation of key Supreme Court cases.
Dr. Utter is great. He really wants active discussions and appreciates well crafted arguments/comments
Do the reading. No one will check that you have at the time, but the exams are based on Essay Questions he gives in advance and they are much easier if you know the cases.

Required class that is fine. Lot of reading, some of it very dense. Weird requirement for Govt majors but alright overall
Philosophy, not particularly political except 2-3 readings
Utter is phenomenal. Super forgiving grader, but a lot more reading than other professors. Interesting class discussions and always available outside of class.
You get what you put in. If you engage with the class, you can gain some interesting ways of thinking. You can get away with not reading until the assignments, but I don’t know how that will affect your participation grade.
