Professor Dr. Wiegand Reviews
Class Ratings
Prof: Dr. Wiegand / Fall 2021
Dec 15, 2021
Despite performing at the top of my HS chem course I found that this class was the most difficult class I took during this quarter. Almost all of the topics were brand new and one topic, quantum mechanics, for example, was only lectured/taught for at most 5 days and then expected to be retained. what was being learned was super fascinating but it was extremely difficult to explore and really learn about the topics given the fast pace and heavy workload.
The content in this course is so broad going from quantum mechanics to something as simple as balancing equations and is extremely difficult to actually process given the pacing and depth of the topics.
Dr. Wiegand was an AMAZING and kind professor, however, it was very difficult to keep up with the pacing and if you didn't understand it one way, it was a great deal of effort to find an alternate explanation. Great professor, who is very passionate, unfortunately with the large class sizes and heaviness of the subjects, the class was overall grueling.
I wish I knew the actual range of topics and just how fast-paced this class was. I also wish the term "weed-out" was made more clear and emphasized in registration.
