HLTH 251 is an easy, interesting, extremely valuable course. I learned about human reproductive anatomy, menstruation, contraception, STIs, theories of human sexuality, LGBTQ+ issues, healthy communication between partners, consent, sexual techniques, kinks, and more. Dr. Tidey's non-judgmental, matter-of-fact lecture style made these sometimes uncomfortable topics so much easier to talk about. Anyone who wants to have sex would benefit from this course. The four multiple-choice non-cumulative midterms were very easy to pass and were designed to test you on information Dr. Tidey thought was important to have.
While all information in lectures and assigned textbook chapters was testable, reading the textbook chapters in full was not necessary to do well, as I found that most of the most important information was covered in lectures. If you don't have time to read the entire chapter, at least skimming it will help you pick up some more points on the exam.
