Comments on the course

As someone who never had Physics in high school, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I learned. I had a lot of fun doing the work, and the EF151 website is very easy to navigate. There is a lot of work for this class, but it's scheduled so there are no nasty surprises.

Comments on the professor

I had both Bennett and Schleter, and their banter is like that of two roommates. They explain the content well and are quick to help you. Very nice individuals.

Advice

Get ahead as soon as you can. Don't wait to do prep and practice at the last minute. The material builds on itself, so try not to gloss over a concept and at least get a hand on it.

Comments on the course

It was a very useful class, and proved to me that I do want to do engineering (I had never taken physics in high school)

Course Content

Almost exclusively physics. Very useful and helpful for the engineering mindset.

Comments on the professor

Very effective professors, and a huge amount of resources.

Advice

1. Get familiar with EF website 2. When studying utilize the old exams they post on the website. Literally just take multiple before exams 3. Don’t procrastinate on the project (it’s a super easy project, I did it in one night and got an A) 4. Attend all labs and classes because there is participation (doesn’t affect you heavily for normal class, but will if you skip labs)

Comments on the course

The course should be very easy if you took physics in high school but it's a great refresher incase you forgot anything. The online course learning modules are very straightforward and don't overburden you with detail like many textbooks would. I took the course during the height of COVID so most of my lectures were on zoom. I would say I learned the course material almost entirely through the learning modules, they are very effective for learning quickly.

Course Content

You'll learn the basics of physics mechanics and briefly touch on a few other phyiscs topics. Nice general knowledge for any engineering major.

Advice

Make sure to do atleast two practice exams before taking any of the exams in this course. You can find them under the exams section on the website. I went into the first exam without practicing any of them because I thought I knew all of the content but I was very thrown off by the questions. As long as you are able to complete the practice exams without much of a hiccup, you should be good.

Comments on the course

I think that there is a very large course load and it is very difficult to balance with other classes.

Course Content

I learned a lot about physics but it was very difficult to understand most of the time.

Advice

I wish I knew how difficult the course would be .
