Comments on the course

Keep in mind that when I post this, I’m literally the first semester to ever take this class. Prof Crumpton is a nice enough person but was not that great of a professor. You’re basically doing everything on your own including your learning. We’re also learning Java which I think is a very easy language for beginners, BUT we will probably never use again. My takeaway is basically: I already had some programming knowledge, and now I’m just kinda proficient in Java and warmed up for COSC102.

Course Content

Learning Java. Using VS code. You will have weekly assignments in the form of 1 program and 1 online homework that talks about the material you focused on that week. And of course exams. Exams contain basic functions and vocabulary.

Comments on the professor

Honestly not my favorite. Kinda felt like I was just wasting my time coming to class. But this is also just me, I know some people struggled in the class.

When writing programs DO THIS EVERY TIME!!!!! I only lost points the entire semester because of comments/format never actual code 1. Write a header (name, date, short summary of program) 2. Add comments to code explaining it. No matter how easy the program is add some comments. And make the comments neat blocks instead of long single lines.
