Comments on the course

For most STEM majors, this is one of the first basic classes that you have to take in college. Doing the Webwork assignments will help out with studying. The professor provides study guides so you will have study material. I highly recommend knowing the formulas! Those are essential in doing calc. If you don't know the formulas, you WILL struggle with doing derivatives and integrals for complex equations. If you miss out on a calculus lecture (yes, you will skip a class), the online notes are provided online.

Course Content

The content is all derivatives and integrals. You do exams on limits (knowing where or y-value that a function will approach), derivatives (rates to the original function), integrals (above rate to the original function, and I think that's it. For engineering classes, the basic parts of calculus will be useful. For other stem majors, I have no clue, but it may indirectly help.

Comments on the professor

Matthew is probably the best calculus 1 professor that you will have. He is really good at teaching and cares for his students.

Advice

I wish I got credit for AP Calculus AB because it's best to be ahead in your schedule. But because I took calc in high school, retaking it was extremely easy.
