You must attend every class because all work is done in class + one in-class exam (multiple choice, fill in the blank, and calculations (calculators allowed)), and one final group project for which you are given in-class time to work on.
Overall, GIS is somewhat intuitive for me, but I know that it wasn't for some of my classmates.
The professor doesn't go out of his way to help you at all, so any work you put in is exactly what you will get out of this course. He is hard to reach on email and leaves class as soon as it's over so make sure to get his attention in class if you have questions.
Show up to classes even though they are long, it's much harder to try and catch up than attending (You can do this!).

The best part of the course is having your midterm and final portfolios. Make sure to go over and fix any mistakes on the drawings that are going in your portfolios.
The content of the course is based on (25%) 13 homeworks, (25%) on peer reviews that are obtained after you submit your homework, (25%) on your midterm portfolio, and (25%) on your final portfolio.
The lectures and recitations are very boring. Put the lectures on 2x speed and get some good music to work to. Since the course is online, the professor can be hard to reach. If you start the work early, you can ask questions during recitation.
Most of the work is posted two weeks before it is due. Start the homework as soon as it is published! I did my work two weeks in advance and didn't fall behind. Unfortunately, it is very hard to catch up if you end up falling behind.
