Comments on the course

This is a 1 credit lab for ENY 3005 and it was a lot of work for one credit, so I'd say only take this class if you absolutely need to. You need to curate a collection of 40 insects of 10 different orders and 2 non-insect arthropods. This will take loads of outside class time because during the lab you get stuck doing rather unhelpful busy assignments. However, I loved the class because my TA was amazing (the TAs run the labs) and I started and nearly finished my collection super early. I recommend trying to have most of your collection done before the halfway point in the semester because as things get busy, you'll have less and less time to collect. I LOVED MY TA! Best human on the planet. Super helpful, always responded to emails, accommodated me in a pinch, and her passion and energy for insects (especially bees) was lovely to see and learn from.

Advice

I wish I knew this class would take so much time outside of class and certain things about the rules for the collection.
