This is a 1 credit lab for ENY 3005 and it was a lot of work for one credit, so I'd say only take this class if you absolutely need to. You need to curate a collection of 40 insects of 10 different orders and 2 non-insect arthropods. This will take loads of outside class time because during the lab you get stuck doing rather unhelpful busy assignments. However, I loved the class because my TA was amazing (the TAs run the labs) and I started and nearly finished my collection super early. I recommend trying to have most of your collection done before the halfway point in the semester because as things get busy, you'll have less and less time to collect. Also, the requirements and info on the collection is disorganized and spread out so make sure to ask your TA questions about the more

Course Content

Identifying the major categories of insects. Useful for most ag and life science majors.

I LOVED MY TA! Best human on the planet. Super helpful, always responded to emails, accommodated me in a pinch, and her passion and energy for insects (especially bees) was lovely to see and learn from.

I wish I knew this class would take so much time outside of class and certain things about the rules for the collection.
