Comments on the course

It was a course on Sports Data Journalism. I honestly wasn't aware this was a sector of journalism prior to this class, but now this is what I want to do for a living. It's incredibly useful and interesting and loved going to class every week.

Course Content

Each week was a new niche part of sports data journalism, but it all connects seamlessly.

Comments on the professor

He is incredible! He does to teach and is very ready to teach the students. He wants you to learn and will do anything to help you. Would 100% taking any class you can with him.

Advice

Stay on top of the work and dont be afraid to question any and everything.

Comments on the course

I thought the class was pretty straightforward and easy to grasp. Obviously, it's a requirement for the College of Journalism and Communications but I would recommend it for any student as a lot of it is kind of just common sense, but it reinforces good analytical practices.

Course Content

The content of the course is based on journalistic practices we, journalists or simple readers, are used to but explains them to make sure you can interpret the information presented correctly. So, I found the content extremely useful to avoid the common mistakes myself and be able to identify when others make the mistakes themselves

Comments on the professor

He is incredibly ready to help you out through email or during office hours. Overall, he is a very funny and knowledgeable professor and I would 100% recommend taking him.

Advice

Do as many of the modules at a time as possible.
