This course has a good amount of assignments it is graded on, including 3 essays, two short-ish ones and a term paper, a reading journal due in four parts throughout the semester, and a sprinkling of other small assignments alongside participation and attendance.
I liked the content of the course, the topic is somewhat niche, and therefore time can be spent going into details about the topic which certainly make it more interesting. It provides a lot of interesting perspectives and topics you likely haven't explored in other classes before. The content is not particularly difficult either, a lot of it is based on primary source reading and interpretation.
Professor Harland-Jacobs' lecture style is pretty engaging, she obviously is knowledgable and enthusiastic about the topic, the lectures are simple and clear-cut as well, with powerpoints that include all the main points. All the course materials are available on her canvas page as well, so you can review/follow along with the PowerPoints if you need.
Professor Harland-Jacobs seems like she really cares about the class and the students and though I never had to ask her for help, I assume she would be very open to helping if needed.
