People said this would be an easy course but there is a 1500 word essay due every week. The content itself is not hard at all but if you plan on working a full time job over the summer while taking more than one class the workload is challenging.
its not useful for my major but its definitely connects ideas i have already learned about
professors are TAs i think.
There's a 1500-word essay due Sunday every week, plus 250 word discussion post every friday. on top of that, it's about 60-90 pages of reading each week.

Took GEO2500 (6000-word requirement) during Fall 2024. The course was very manageable for my hectic/busy schedule and consisted of weekly discussion boards & essays. Just follow the rubric and you will grade high. Md Shaharier Alam was very understanding and allowed 3-4 attempts on weekly quizzes (open book) and also permitted 1-day grace period on late submissions. The course was interesting but the textbook had lengthy chapters. This was the easiest 6000-word class I have taken. I highly recommend this instructor! No exams; just essays for mid-term & final.
Lessons on the global economy. You'll learn economics and geography at the same time.
He was the best, most understanding professor ever! Obviously, he recalls what it's like to be a student facing high demands, and he seemed to care about us and didn't overwhelm us with insane homework assignments and deadlines. I would take him again!
I was nervous about taking this class because the syllabus and module outline seemed intimidating, but once I got my groove going, it became the most manageable class I have taken at UF.

Very interesting class and was a good introduction to the harder geography classes. Teacher was easy going and grade came largely from reading homeworks.
