Generally, a tough class if you've never programmed before. Starting with C is a blessing and a curse because you get a very strong knowledge of how a computer generally works, but it's tough to debug and syntactically.
Learned concepts of programming in C. Very very useful if you've never programmed before, especially if you're a CECS major
Ahmed was cool. Not the greatest slides nor the greatest lecture, very middle-of-the-road
It is more work than you may think it is. It tends to get harder pretty quickly. If you've coded before, this shouldn't be awful, but if you haven't, be prepared to work very hard

This is a very difficult class but if you intend to take the foundation exam take it with Tanvir, his class is well organized by quizzes, assignments, labs and reviews so you'll learn a looot, there is no way you won't understand. But be prepared eitherways with any professor it is hard. Whole class is based on data structure al algorithms so linked list, DMA, binary,etc...
Very useful
He really wants to make sure you learn
Just study a lot

You need to be good in this class in order to be good in CS1.
Learning about the concepts of programming and basic/intermediate concepts of the C language.
He was okay. It was hard to be engaging online of course but towards the end of the semester he seemed burnt out. Poor guy.
Dont take too many other tough classes with this one, especially if you're a CS major. I took this as a MechE (before I switched to CPE) and I think taking this version where the CS profs normally force you to learn about pointers is much better than EGN 3211.

Course took a lot of time because coding just isn't my Forte. We had a couple of assignments a week. The quizzes were hard and you had to know the concepts pretty well to ace his class.
Sorting, Arrays, pointers, and a little bit about getting data from a file input.
He was somewhat entertained and wants his students to understand the concepts of coding.
Don't take this class the same semester as other hard/time consuming classes. Especially if you have no previous programming experience

Prof Ahmed did such a wonderful job of teaching, and helping us. He has a lot of TA’s who all helped us.
Study and go to class
