Comments on the course

Awesome Teacher! This was his first time teaching CS1, and he made it an awesome experience! There were many bumps in the highway, but he helped us out along the way (even with covid forcing us online) He shared his “UCF-life” experiences, in terms of when he took CS1.

Advice

Awesome Professor here!

Gerber is a great professor and you will fly through the course. I didn't touch the textbook once, just followed his examples and slides. Due to covid he's given lengthy time to complete exams and quizzes. However, every semester his graders suck at grading and you won't know your grade until the very end. There was maybe 1 TA out of them all who wasn't continually 2+ months late.

Advice

Follow his examples. Don't rely on having a grade to know how you're doing.

Complete the work! he will make, many, many, many references to small monsters (yes not that famous Japanese one, the sirens will start when you say it). He is very experienced.

Advice

He is a UCF lifer, and knows how it works, take him if you can
