Attendance not completely mandatory, until later in semester when 3 quizzes are held during class. This is based off half the semester being COVID, so things may be different. Textbook ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY. The class will be able HVAC systems and the design considerations that encompass it.

Homeworks are a mixed bag, but just attempting will give you a good grade so do them. Lectures are only sometimes helpful, the textbook goes step by step to all the kinds of questions you can be asked. Seriously, you NEED the textbook. The projects in the class use software that will be used to calculate various loading elements on a building, whether you do the projects the day its due or 2 weeks prior, they're easy enough. He uses part of the lectures to walk you step by step though the projects so show up when you start getting assigned projects.
