Comments on the course

You will Ace this course if there is a mathematician in your family or you already knew the first isomorphism theorem when you were 8 years old. Otherwise, you will fail this course if you did not withdraw as Nike suggests you to.

Course Content

You will learn Cayley in the second week; normalizer, stablizer in the third week, etc. Ends up with Sylow, composition series, etc.

Comments on the professor

He will send emails to you to withdraw this course if you can't get 70 in a midterm, constantly. Also, he's the phd student of Andrew Wiles.

Advice

I should learn abstract algebra by myself when I was 10.

Comments on the course

One of the easiest third year math courses. Nike is a treat, and treats all students (even those weaker students who struggle, believing that they deserve to pass simply for putting in the effort) with a great deal of compassion and respect.

Course Content

Group theory. Perhaps the most applicable field of math to the real world. You won't find a field on God's green Earth that doesn't use group actions.

Comments on the professor

Handsome, intelligent, brave, and understanding. One of the greatest professors of all time. And his Tarot readings are shockingly accurate!

Advice

I wish I knew how much it would change my life. I. LOVE. JACOBSON.
