The first two thirds of this course was fine. I was able to learn the integral techniques relatively quickly. Probability functions were also easy to follow. The last unit sucked for me. I hated doing the whole series unit, especially the power series manipulations and the converging diverging series at the end. This was proven in the final which was insanely hard compared to practice ones. It made me wanna consider my life decisions. The webworks took lots of time to complete, so get ready to spend several hours per week completing then. Seek office hrs if you need. The group project content wasn't bad, the main thing here is you want to form a good study group. That's how I did good on it. In terms of the midterm I felt it to be slightly challenging but very doable, It felt much easi...read more
You will learn a few key integration techniques, how to find probability density functions and others, and series, including converging and diverging tests.
His humour was what helped me engage in his lectures, however his notes were a bit hard to read at times. Nothing too memorable about him but his teaching was good.
Make sure you are comfortable with derivatives aka calc 1 content. This course builds on this a lot. Try to attend all lectures and discussions, this can help with practicing the relevant material and make studying easier. There's only 1 large group 2 hour lecture per week so really pay attention. Do a LOT of practice problems before test periods, especially in the textbook and redo webwork questions before exams. Do not underestimate the test difficulty. Try to avoid this course if your desired specialization does not require it, as it is a HARD course if you struggle with math.

Awful. Terrible. Never again. I have no clue why this course is a requirement for a lot of majors.
Integral calc and convergent divergent.
He was actually good. Very kind and engaging.
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE IF U DON'T NEED TO.

A difficult course that built on math 100. The course needs a ton of improvement. 2 hours to teach the material isn't enough, and sometimes the lectures emphasize the wrong material. The class discussions should be replaced with lectures instead. The group assignments can take multiple hours for all group members, even though there are seemingly 3-4 math questions per assignment. It's really a sift to see who are geniuses or those have the drive to hammer away at them (XD). I honestly believe these group assignments should be given to 2nd years and above MINIMUM. I found the midterms to be fair, but on the harder side of fair. I remember learning about trig sub, and we only learned it the previous week before seeing it tested on a midterm. I found the final to be very tough. The 1/2 hal...read more
Our professor was great! He is passionate and explains things deeply, though a bit too much for the layman who is taking this course. He wrote on a transparent blackboard.
Watch videos online that teach you to SOLVE the questions. The theory doesn't really matter.

This class has given me multiple mental breakdowns. I have 92% in precalc back in highschool and I am currently close to failing the course. The schedule is so messed up with the 1 2-hour lecture a week and a small class. The lectures barely help and webwork doesnt have any similarities to the large or small class material.

This course has been the pushing me over the edge at the point that I am losing mental sanity. Similar to my complaint with Math 100, the lectures are not a good reflection of the webworks, where the lectures often have examples too simple, and the same can be said with the small classes. As an individual who did Math IB HL FOR FUN, I can confidently say that this course has reduced my passion for Maths to absolutely nothing. Maybe I can gaslight myself into liking math again one day. A 2 hour math lecture is also just way too long for one session. I would much rather prefer 3 smalller classes. This has worked for courses like CPSC 210 and ASTR 102, so I think Math would greatly benefit. And one last thing, why are there so many inconsistencies with marking assignments? I would understand ...read more
Convergence, divergence tests, integrals (of course), reimann sum, simpsons rule, trapezoid rule, some probabiliy (for some reason out of no where), partial integrals. etc.

Workload is heavy, this week I have a 3 hour web work assignment, 2.5 hour practice exam, and a group work assignment. Probably the hardest course in first year, even harder than 158
Two hour lecture a week, too long to focus and memorize. When you get to the end of the week, you don’t memorize anything. Also, if they expect you to memorize every formula and every condition for every test on the final exam, I give up
Choose your math group wisely, find smart people you know. Don’t join a group of people you don’t know! Don’t come late to the first small class! Yes, they might bite you hard on the back

Terrible way to teach first years math. 1 lecture a week is a terrible way to teach and often leaves students out of practice and not understanding the topics that were lightly covered in class when asked to replicate the work or harder work for assignments.
