Comments on the course

Wouldn't even consider this a film class because 99% of the course has no relevance to film -- it is a course on how to do research. Perhaps that works for you if relevant to your major but as someone interested in film who took this as an elective it was a tedious and frustrating course. Classes were just working through the textbook.

Comments on the course

Overall it was good but there are some activities that don't have clear instructions. For the summer course which is intensive, there were 3 hours of online synchronous class/week (not much for a summer course) and the rest was asynch. pre-recorded lectures. nothing was terribly difficult but you need to put in some work to do well on the quizzes and many small assignments. for the larger projects, there's a short essay analyzing a film scene and there's a research proposal (no paper) due at the end of the term.
