Basic physics class designed to give ARCH students an understanding of how force systems work inside of buildings. So far, this course is easier than the physics and calc pre-requisite courses I took before applying to the program.

Learn most of the content in lectures, practice assignments in labs. Attendance isn't graded, but feels mandatory because the course is fairly fast-paced.

I can really tell that Pat has grown as a prof over the past couple decades. He acts like the crochety old ARCH professors from the old days, but he teaches like he really wants you to understand the content and pass the course. He's good at it too. The "optional" textbook is just him referencing the book he an another person wrote on the course content. Pat is a great prof.

Just show up to class and take notes.
