Prof: Kihong Park / Spring 2025

Interesting course material, good professor, difficult but reasonable lab assignments. The textbook is not required for the course but can be helpful for review or getting more details on certain topics.
The course provides an overarching view of the details of an operating system in C and assembly - specifically XINU. Topics discussed include isolation/protection, kernel/user mode functionalities, process scheduling, memory fragmentation, and more.
Park is an engaging lecturer and is a fan of diagrams and drawings - great for visual learners like myself. He seems to care about his students, and reviews the previous lecture briefly at the beginning of each class, which I find helpful.
Like many lab-based classes, start as early as possible and seek help when you need it.
