Comments on the course

Boring as h*ll.

Course Content

Learned C, I guess. Not useful for people looking to get into programming. Not even sure it was useful for good programming practices in C, tbh. It's a weed-out class.

Comments on the professor

Talks about his company a lot.

Advice

Labs are a significant portion of your grade. They're easy to get points on and miss points on. If you struggle there - unsurprising - get help from other students or the TAs.

Anyone but Ries.

Comments on the course

Weed out class, only take if seriously interested. Labs are a big part of grade and hold a lot of importance, and also timed.

Course Content

Alot of C, and how to use stack overflow

Comments on the professor

Not very teachy, would sell you internships at his company he works at. Nice guy, horrible teacher.

Advice

Have A LOT of experience in programming before, I came in not knowing a lot about programming (figured id pick it up as it is a entry class).Learning "ground up" is not really an option.

Anyone but Jim, pretty bad.
