Giroux believes that American literature is only Hollywood. Her intense focus on LA is annoying and boring. If you are in English take the class, otherwise stay away as only 2/6 books are engaging. You have to read 6 books (80+ dollars)

The theorist are definitely relevant for all of literature however, the books are either difficult to read and incredibly dense, or super engaging and depressing.

Giroux is incredibly sweet but her obsession with LA becomes overwhelming, for American literature I wish other locations and focuses were explored.
