(Course is Pass/Fail by design; ignore grade above) The course is the mandatory tutorial / orientation course for second-years entering the PNB program. There's no work for it, you simply have to show up each week for 1 hour to pass the course. Overall the topics we talked about each week were pretty interesting, and also helped to introduce us as new students to research both specifically to PNB, and in general The guest speakers and discussions had every week were also pretty interesting, and I always learned at least one new thing about the faculty, academia, or research in general.

Dr. Bock was a great supervisor, and I really appreciated how engaging he made the tutorial by letting students ask questions about things they didn't understand for courses or topics in the PNB department, and also worries or stresses that we could vent during the hour. Super nice guy :)
