Terrible, disorganized class. I can't believe I paid money to watch old youtube videos and go to a single weekly class that does not cover the week's module material, but rather the upcoming week. Test questions were fair if you studied processes and memorized amino acids.
The modules are practically impossible to complete within the week because theyre so dense and hard to understand. The content was not covered in the single weekly lecture either, so google is your best friend here. The modules themselves jump around concepts so much its hard to figure out what processes or molecules are; introducing terms that won't be explained for the next 2 slides and jumping over steps without clarifications.
In lecture, she insists on summarizing the next weeks material that has yet to be covered and give applications on that, which is extremely hard given we haven't seen that content yet. She insists the lectures stay this way and sets due dates for weekly quizzes at odd hours. She basically useless in this course, just take notes for applications for test questions and hope you understand them after. She seems nice though.
Don't take this class if you can avoid it. Its not hard if you can understand the topics, but the delivery method and amount of work needed to be done every week does everything it can to make things difficult.

- 💀 - I enjoyed this course because of the topics covered - Live lectures are very important to attend as a lot of exam questions may stem from there (especially the last lecture on cancer) - Online modules were extremely long and exhausting to go through weekly. With that being said, it is very easy to lag behind in this course but if you keep up with the content weekly, your future self will thank you once it's time to start studying for the final exam
- Topics covered in Bio 2B03 have come up in many other courses I've taken this semester and so yes, I find it useful (I'm a Neuroscience major for reference)
Pros: Always uses metaphors in class to make difficult concepts easy to digest and understand. Fair midterm + exam. Cons: Not sure if this is really a con but absolutely hates it when people don't attend his lectures, threatens to take down live lecture recordings if enough people don't attend in person.

Great course. Content is very heavy and can be difficult but the prof helps explain it. Lectures and modules were straightforward and easy to follow. Quizzes weren’t hard and assignments were overall ok. Group project is easy if you ask your TA questions, otherwise it can be quite confusing. Tests and exams were fair and the practice test had the exam same questions as the exam which made it very easy. The course is very useful and is needed for lots of upper year bio, bio chem, and life sci courses
Pay attention to the application part of the lectures because it pops up on tests. TAKE LOTS OF NOTES

The modules for this course were tough (the module lady spoke insanely quickly), but the applied lectures were interesting. The first midterm was the most challenging, but the subsequent evaluations were more fair.
Dr. da Silva was pretty accomodating during the semester, and even dropped everyone's worst test of the 3.
Keep on top of the work and try not to cram your studying. Focus on having an understanding of the concepts covered over memorization
