I loved taking this course! I have my BA but needed to take PSYCH 090 as a prerequisite for Master's programs. The professor always made time for discussion and was truly enthusiastic about what she was teaching. The assignments are straightforward and creative.

This class introduces the major theoretical frameworks used in counseling (including school/college/career counseling) and therapy. The book was affordable (I found a copy online) and was easy to read - it felt more like a novel than a textbook. While I want to become a therapist, I really had no idea, before taking this class, of all the different paths and philosophies a therapist draws from.

Nazli makes herself available to students and really tries to immediately incorporate feedback. She is supportive and reflects students' strengths back to them. She was also very understanding of interfering work/time commitments. I don't have any cons, I highly recommend this class!

The class is a little long (3 1/2 hours) and meets once a week. Bring a snack and take Nazli up on her offer for bathroom breaks!
