Comments on the course

Fun class for the analytical problem solver type of student. Much more enjoyable than memorizing Biology. Solid Chem 1 foundation absolutely necessary to keep the workload down. You MUST do homework and studying outside of lecture to do well.

Course Content

This class will help prepare you for standardized tests you may take later on like the MCAT, DAT, or even Military's ASVAB exam. Everything you learn is very useful and helps expand your critical thinking and problem solving abilities.

Comments on the professor

Great guy, lots of energy, you can tell he's excited to teach. Was also pretty generous with extra credit questions on exams. At times he seemed little disorganized and some of his solutions can be hard to follow because they're hand written. This wasn't a huge problem tho.

Everything Builds on Chem 1. Your goal should be to score as high as possible on every exam. The exams are 10-15 questions multiple choice (3 points each) and the rest is free response (around 70 points with a 10 point Extra Credit problem). Free response and extra credit are very similar to mastering chem HW. Have a good calculator (non graphing) and be comfortable with it. Do practice problems and homework with the same calculator you use for exams. Practice how you play. Remember your own equations from mastering chem because the formula sheet he gives on the exams are a little watered down. Plus remembering equations/constants/formulas saves you SO much valuable time when taking the exams. He'll take 5 points off if you forget a negative sign. Know how to use scientific notation, more
