Prof: Cynthia Martinez / Fall 2021
Dec 15, 2021
The course itself is a mandated course by the school to encourage success in the Psychology major. The course is cool because you get to learn about different psychology fields and their daily duties. The course flows through different higher education programs, research organizations, and self-studies.
The course content is useful. However, I am not sure how much I retained because the majority of the class was focused on a project where you work with partner (she assigns) and you complete a small self-study.
Professor Martinez was very nice and she offered great materials. You do not need a book. But, I would recommend taking her in-person because her canvas page was very confusing. Personally, the page was not set up like my other classes, so I had some difficulty. She gives a ton of time for assignments and will let you re-attempt if you absolutely bomb it.
Just make sure you double-check her page when she gives out assignments and double-check the APA format for her papers. Throughout her class, some students had trouble figuring out which APA format (6 or 7) she wanted. Also, make sure you are on top of her grading. Some of my assignments I sent via email did not get graded until the last couple weeks of course work.
