The class was definitely engaging and interesting for those wanting to start learning German. There was a lot of memorization involved with spelling and articles in order to prepare for the frequent quizzes and presentations.

Be prepared to participate a lot (the prof calls on students at random to share their homework answers and answer questions).

Heavy grammar focus, but everyone that's in the class wants to be there so it's easy to get to know people. Lots of German culture topics introduced as well, which makes class interesting. Super fun if you put in the work

Frau Tallowitz makes class fun, but does give quite a lot of homework.

Even though there's a lot of homework, it's super important that you do it. Try to study with someone, since there's also a large speaking component.
