Comments on the course

I registered for this course not really knowing what to expect. I'm a mature student with a previous degree and new to the field of economics. There is a LOT of reading in this class, so be prepared. The classes are more like debates about current and alternate economic policies. Prof. Glabb makes his views well-known, but is open to arguments to the contrary if you can back them up. Try to form a good reading group at the start of the class - it will make all the difference. The class involved 3 quizzes on basic micro/macro concepts, that are pulled word for word from the suggested textbook, 4 briefing note assignments and a final policy paper worth 45%. This isn't an easy A, but it's interesting and engaging and an A is possible with some work.

Advice

Go to lectures! Very few people attended lectures and the prof gave went over the briefing notes in a lot of detail before they were due.
