The class provides a great foundation for linguistics, and the lectures are definitely interesting! The courseload is relatively light but it’s important to really understand the IPA and different linguistic processes in order to succeed in further courses within the department.

The prof was okay, he seems like a nice guy and I appreciated his assessment style of only having a few in-class activities to turn in along with the midterms and exam. He always comes across as sort of nervous and unsure, though.
