Standard intro class to CompSci/coding. Class goes over the fundamentals of C++ from variables, loop, functions, and classes. Can be a bit hard and tedious if no experience but everything becomes close to second nature if you put in the time as learning C++ makes other languages easy to pick up.
If you aren't in CompSci then typically more programming than most other ppl will ever need. For CompSci students it can be challenging but helps build on future curriculum from CompSci program since you use a lot of C++ your first two years.
Currently, only professor who teaches. He explains things well. If you have prior experience or are ahead in class it can feel to dumbed down at times. I've heard he has gotten better as he's been put in more leadership positions within program but from what I remember he always had a condescending attitude. Would often times belittle students if he thought the questions he asked were trivial. For those reasons I just avoided him.
He heavily based course of "starting out with C++" but used zybooks as our textbook instead. He would lecture from things found in ther text I listed and Zybooks would never include that material. For that reason would consider getting the other book as your main text and zybook more as a complementary text.
