Useful class as long as you can learn through ALEKS. It's algebra, so it's tedious. Accept that now or turn back.
Course is conducted through ALEKS. If you like that (I do) you will like the course. If you don't, you won't. The lecture videos on Canvas were a waste of time, and should be replaced. Use YouTube instead. I recommend OrganicChemistryTutor (he also has math videos) highly. MathSlopes with Julia is highly regarded around here as well, though I have not watched it. The course seems to have a lot of notoriety for heavy workload. Honestly, it isn't that bad as long as you go into it with the mindset of, "I will do some math every day." Minimal interaction, which was expected for this type of course. Overall, I would say I don't have enough information to make a determination on recommend/don't recommend.
The two exams are weighted VERY heavily, and are only 20 questions each. Missing one question will cost you ~3% of your total class grade. Due to this, I strongly recommend using the reviews and practice exams, and making sure you can recognize every problem type and know how to do them. I got unlucky, and my exams had harder questions than those on the reviews and practice. Know that it can happen to you, too, and you *need* to do well on the exams.
