Comments on the course

The material started out hard as it was different math than I was used to but the following units were more manageable.

Course Content

You study permutations, combinations, linear systems, and other offshoots of your typical math class. I believe the material sets you up to take STAT 252 but whether or not it's useful remains to be seen.

Comments on the professor

Technically I had Laura Teshima, but I used Jill's videos to learn. Jill was great at explaining concepts in different ways so that you inevitably understood one way.

Advice

Prepare to finish your assignments earlier than later because some of the questions are doozies.

Comments on the course

There were two midterms, a finale, quizzes (which you have to buy a program for) and a hand-in assignment. If you have to take a math course this is definitely an easier one but it is not completely easy you will still have to put in the work. It is a stats and logic course so some people find that harder but for most it is not. However, the word problems tend to be a little tricky as their wording can be confusing. Also, if you miss a class you will miss a whole lot so you really have to go.

Advice

Don't miss class! And make a study group or go to help sessions for it (also highly recommend Simmons she is so sweet)
