Prof: Robert Criss / Spring 2022
Jun 6, 2022
Goes over the basic concepts of mechanics(projectile motion, forces, work/energy, momentum, rotational motion, fluids, waves, and sound) These ideas will be found throughout your courses and are fundamental to some subjects.
Weekly homework and 4 exams. Go to the lectures and take notes and make sure to pay attention as Dr. Criss gives great explanations for all the topics and goes through many problems that are similar to homework and exam questions. Exams are multiple-choice but can be difficult if you haven't solved enough problems or don't understand the material enough.
Gives a lot of good advice on canvas you should read before starting the course and shows you the basic ideas of problem-solving you can apply to many classes in the future.
Be familiar with vectors and trigonometry so you can focus on the physics and not the math. While it is helpful to be familiar with the basic ideas of calculus, you don't use it much in the course.
