Prof: Dr. Erica Marti / Spring 2021

Jun 30, 2022

Comments on the course

This is a really important critical thinking class for engineers. We discussed topics such as the validity of products claiming to be "eco-friendly" as well as best management practices applicable to engineering fields. It's a great class, but definitely a lot of important material covered.

Course Content

CO2 emissions and sequestration, hydrological scale, Triple Bottom Line of Engineering, carbon and nitrogen cycles, urban sprawl, best management practices, evaluating reputable sources, and using UNLV libraries for research.

Comments on the professor

Dr. Marti is a great professor, and she really takes the time to make sure students understand important concepts after class via office hours and discord voice chat. She assigns a lot of work, but it does help prep for the exams.

Advice

There is A LOT of work associated with this class outside of class time, and the exams are brutal if u are underprepared. Don't take a heavy credit semester load if you are taking this class
