I’m leaving this review because I saw a completely unfair review left. This person clearly has it out for professor oxford, and does not have any real world work experience because this class is incredibly relevant. And trust me, business writing - even the basic email stuff- is unfortunately not common sense. You learn so much about effective communication in this course - and I think I’ve used what I learned in this class in my job than any other course. The drop down didn’t go this far, but I graduated in 2013.

Fantastic professor - tough but fair. Steer clear if you’re looking for an easy A.

How straightforward business communications really is - I over complicated it before starting the class, and definitely overthought the class. But I learned so much!

The concept is good but the way she teaches it is awful.

How to communicate in a business workplace. Such as memos, letters, emails, etc. I do not think it’s very useful at all because most of that stuff is common sense or the job explains to you how they want you to communicate.

The professor is the worst I’ve ever had. She is the type of person who says there’s no perfect score so don’t ever expect a 100. She grades very very tough and will always find something wrong with what you do no matter what. Seems like you can’t do anything correctly. Contradicts herself a lot.

Basically everything I’ve put into this review. That it was going to be very tough and to just get through it knowing it isn’t how the real world works at all.
