I came into the class already having spent the summer at UF so realistically I didn’t need to take it for myself, but it was a requirement for Promise and I think MFOS (maybe). The class was easy tho, lectures were once a week, easy assignments here and there. Professors were chill, only 45ish minute class, and we’d have some group projects plus in class collab stuff. Lots of dialogue, and participating isn’t hard. I made two friends which is cool. Attendance was mandatory.
If I had come into the class not knowing anything about UF then it would’ve been more helpful, because they provided a good amount of resources. Learned some new stuff here and there but they talked about almost everything for the first year experience. Random assignments for varying things, easy tho, and you have to have a brief meeting with your professor, which is also chill and easy you just talk about whatever.
The professor who was mainly leading the class was a peer leader named Haylen Irvan, and she was sweet but also chill, my meeting with her was casual and she was always very friendly. I didn’t like the other co-instructor which was Dr. Chris Summerlin, but that’s just cuz I got a weird vibe about him. He was still chill too, just personally not my cup of tea.
Take notes about the different resources they mention, it can be helpful. This can be a very easy A as long as you do what the assignments say, follow deadlines, and talk a bit during classes.

It was pretty easy and gave me valuable info about UF. It's a really light class and all freshmen are required to take it anyways!

Very easy. Other than having to meet with each of the instructors once in the semester, there’s pretty much nothing that’ll take a significant amount time outside of the class.
The course is essentially a guide to being a college student. There’s a ton of useful information on things like financial literacy, campus resources, and LinkedIn.
Sydney and Jeni were great. They seemed to really care about the class and had a lot of experience to share with us.
What you put into the class is what you’ll get out of it. If you pay attention in class you’re guaranteed to learn something new that is useful. Don’t just treat it like a requirement for MFOS that you need to get out of the way.

This is the easiest course to the point where you have to try to get below an A.
You learn the basics of Gainesville, like what there is to do and where to go for different activities. You also learn about resources on campus. It's basically just acquainting you to UF student life.
Kaitlyn is literally the best person ever. She's also an undergrad student so she knows what you're going through and what it's like. Please take it with her if you can!!!
Take it if you want an easy class in your schedule your first year. it's literally the best decision I made and I have made so many friends from it.
