It was very difficult. The lectures are good but very fast. There's homework after every lecture and a quiz every week. Exams are weighted heavily and I don't feel like they reflect the course content very well. The exams also cover a lot of content so it's hard to know what to study.

Professor Carmichael is a good lecturer but moves very fast.

If you don't need to take calculus don't take MAC1147. Only take this if you're already good at math and have a strong understanding of pre-calc. It's better to take MAC1140 and MAC1114 if you don't need calc later on.

The course was very fast-paced and sometimes the workload seemed overwhelming; however, the professor explained everything in depth. The third exam was the most difficult by far.

Overall it was alright! I have ADHD and am learning online (I also struggle to understand math the first time around) so I will admit it was a little bit more difficult for me personally than the average student taking this course. A LOT of homework and lectures, forewarning. Exams and quizzes weigh really heavy on your average.

IMO hardest math class I've ever taken, but that doesn't mean its so hard it feels impossible. Starts off easy, progressively gets worse. Quizzes and exams are not really like the lectures and I really struggled with that.

Prof Carmichael is super funny and relatively entertaining during his lectures. He explains everything pretty thoroughly so the content is not too difficult to understand.

Don't make simple mistakes, but don't destroy yourself over Gen Ed's either :)

Professor Carmichael went very in depth with topics and not only taught concepts, but showed students where they come from. I wanted to go straight into calculus with a very weak pre cal foundation and had to drop the first week. After this class, I had a really strong foundation of Pre calculus which made Calc ten times easier (especially because of all the trig they throw at you).

He makes jokes and is a very easy person to talk to. Extremely fair exams and overall a cool guy. Recommend Carmichael over other pre cal professors!

He does exam reviews before every exam. Super helpful!!

Good professor that makes a very fast paced course manageable

Prof. Carmichael is a good professor. Never had any interactions with him but in his videos he’s fun and easy to understand.
