The most important thing is getting to the field days- was always a highlight of my week. Spending a couple of hours outside for class always feels like a treat.

This course is awesome! It's a general introduction to forest ecology and Dr. Broadbent does a great job of making the course fun. This course has a big focus on developing research skills and throughout the class you will read a variety of research papers on different topics and discuss them with your classmates. Ultimately, you'll have to design your own forest ecology research project, perform analyses, and present your findings to the class. As someone interested in pursuing a career in forestry research, this course provided me with a great introductory foundation!

Dr. Broadbent is really fun and VERY enthusiastic about the class.

Dr. Broadbent makes the exams and quizzes pretty easy so that you don't feel pressured by failing the course and can actually enjoy learning the material. Don't take his niceness for granted by goofing off and not learning anything!
