Comments on the course

i have some difficulty finding answers but that is my own fault. overall, even though i'm bad at it, i think its a relatively easy course.

Course Content

this class is really only useful if youre a compsci or psych major. if you dont need this class, take stat200. content was a bit difficult for me, but im not a math person.

Comments on the professor

sweetest man ever. he can go pretty fast but he posts slides and will go back if you need help. he also has an optional zoom if youre sick or cant make it to class so that you can watch the class from your bed. hes amazing.

Advice

i wish i had some more background in computer science or coding before doing this, just because it is a different language.

Comments on the course

This class is a statistics based psychology class but so far the entire course is based on assignments using a coding platform. We had minimal instructions on how to use the platform, and as a psych major, not a computer science major, I'm really struggling. We have weekly homework assignments that we use the coding platform for, which take me hours and have me in tears every week. I understand statistics is important for psychology, but I can't even learn statistics if I first have to get past how to code.

Comments on the professor

The professor is passionate about the topics and is definitely very smart. However, I don't understand anything that is taught because of the program we use. I went to office hours a few times, but I don't feel like I got anything out of it. I think the level of knowledge about coding that the professor expects from us for this course is way too much, considering this class is mostly psych majors and does not have any coding pre requisites.

Advice

I really wish there was advice I could give, but if I knew anything that could help me I would be using it.
