Prof: Andrew Flanagin / Winter 2021

Comments on the course

The class content was interesting for the most part. I appreciated learning about the overview of the history of the Internet, modern applications, and different government policies about it. land Flanagin is clearly well-informed on the subject. He had us peer grade weekly responses, which sucked. Grading was pretty unbalanced but if you asked him to regrade, he would usually grade harder than your original grader so you're better off not asking.

Course Content

Did you know UCSB was one of the pioneers of the Internet? Too bad the internet on campus is still trash.

Comments on the professor

He was extremely unaccommodating to students. It was an online class and he refused to post lectures despite recording them every time. One student had to miss a lecture because of her grandfather's funeral and he told her to figure it out herself. The final for the class included an extremely petty and rude question about the class GroupMe, which we only needed to the extent we did because he was such a mean and unsupportive professor that made you feel stupid when asking for help.
