Comments on the course

Despite being a political science class, much of the required book work and textbook quizzes for the class focus on American history. Questions like "which of these tribes was part of the plains indians" in a class nominally focused on the American Presidency felt unhelpful. The in class lectures that do focus on the Presidents throughout history can at times feel more like a history lesson as well.

Comments on the professor

Professor Ladewig is a great lecturer, he's clearly passionate about what he teaches. He's really good at trying to engage the class and get them interested in the course material.

Advice

It's more of a history class than a political science class and requires a lot of reading for the textbook quizzes (over 700 pages). If you want to learn about historic presidencies and a bit about how the office evolved Prof. Ladewig is great, but if you're looking for something more focused on the executive branch and how it functions I suggest you skip this one.
