Pretty easy base-level class.

Yeargain uses some small activities called Materia Widgets. 1 point each but pretty useful if you want to play them over for quick reviews, you have more materia widgets than anything else in her class. Quizzes were pretty easy and the tests are straightforward. The course uses OpenStax, so no textbook purchase, although I mainly relied on the PowerPoints given which have the same information, if not more.

Did not interact with her much. Attendance is not mandatory, and she used a hybrid format (in-person lectures streamed on Zoom) which is useful. I am sure she will keep it that way for future sections as well. Ample extra credit opportunities.

SARC really does help you grasp the concepts more. I went once toward the end of the semester and ended up wishing I would have attended more sessions throughout the entire semester. This is a fundamental course, especially for science majors, so try to focus more on learning than just getting the grade.

I skipped most classes and ended up with a B didn't really study at all, but this class is an easy A if you attend lectures and study.

Make sure you attend lectures and take detailed notes on the PowerPoint as she has no recordings of her lectures which are super heavy in information. Go to class!

Took BSC 2010C with Pro. Thomas during Fall 2020, it was a very easy class. If you understand biology in high school then you should be fine. Have lab online; attendance wasn't mandatory. Sometimes have live lectures, but most of them were online on YouTube. Super hard to follow; sometimes the videos have cuts, there lots of distractions, and goes off topic a lot of times. Test questions are easy but difficult due to wording (is on purpose). Offers extra credit for each test (separate assignment, not within the test). Response to emails, but takes awhile. Overall easy A if you put in the work.

Straightforward bio class. It is pretty easy for the most part and Pamela Thomas is a sweet professor. You’ll have to use RealizeIT for assignments and Squarecap for attendance, though.

ATTEND SARC SESSIONS! Seriously these sessions are amazing. Fun tutors and it WILL prepare you for every test!
