Wonderful course! I truly think Avery and Naomi did an amazing job teaching you the basics of how to use GIS, plus my TA was awesome. I came into this course really scared because I had heard horror stories from people in my major who took this before me, but I genuinely did super well and learned a ton. I'm in a GEOG major and I oftentimes feel nothing I learn is really applicable in the real-world, so I enjoyed picking up a hard skill like mapping.

Made expectations for what they wanted on the finals super clear; actually really interesting and not boring.

A fair amount of written sections on exams which I didn't mind. By the end you'll have to know the computer software pretty well because they'll ask you to make a flowchart on paper of how you'd make a map on ArcGIS.
