Comments on the course

The class is asynchronous which made it easier to fit into my schedule. At first, the class seemed like a ton of work. There are weekly modules with quizzes, discussions, and lectures to watch. As well as a project near the end of the term. However, it wasn't as much work as it seemed. At most this class took me 5 hours per week (probably less if I didn't procrastinate so much). There was one week we had a project, however Katherine didn't make a module due that week so it freed up time to work on the project. We had to create an infographic and a 1500 word write up. As long as you get along with your group and everyone puts decent effort in, the project shouldn't be a ton of work either. Overall, as a science student without a sociology background, I found this class very easy and it's more

Take detailed notes each week. This made it easier to study for the midterm and final so I didn't have to go back and rewatch the lecture videos.
