Comments on the course

This was my first hybrid course and I defintely recommend it. The online work was clear and easy to follow. An online quiz was due each week and wasnt too hard but helped me stay on track. The lectures in person were interesting and worked well with the online work.

Comments on the course

Take lecture notes! In the textbook, there's journal activities, and readings in blue boxes that are important in exams. Those are a bit hard but necessary. All other main content in the textbook is all in the lectures so the only important things to read are the blue boxed exerpts from real publications.

Advice

If you want to try a sociology class or specialize here, SOCI 102 with Catherine is the place to start.

Comments on the course

Reading heavy, challenging essays, evaluation fully based on essays.

Advice

My TA kept telling me I have to present a "deeper analysis" of the material! I don't know what that means but you might find it useful!!!
