Comments on the course

no quizzes, midterms or finals, but was extremely assignment heavy, and in-class participation was mandatory (hence attendance was mandatory). Every class had either a written in-class participation exercise about the material, or had a "group" assignment for the class where you would be split into groups, and would create either a presentation/document to submit

Course Content

Canadian History; old people who made Canada, racism against indigenous people, racism against Chinese/Japanese/ Black people who immigrated to Canada I did not pay attention in class tbh

Comments on the professor

Pro: enthusiastic about the material, planned a lot of out-trips (on-campus out-trips were mandatory, off-campus field-trips were not), was understanding and relatively flexible about deadlines if you emailed/ talked to her ahead of time cons: lectures were quite wordy

Advice

as a person who dislikes history, i disliked this course. I thought I'd be learning more about Canadian Geography, but it was actually a full-on history course. If you don't need this class, don't take it; I only took it because it satisfies a pre-req for Bachelor of Education
